Knitting IS Therapy
It’s been said that doing things with our hands can help to calm our minds.
Knitting has become that oasis in the storm for both Laura and I. Though we have each taken a different path to expressing ourselves with yarn.
I have knitted on and off for years, and last summer, when I was struggling with life as my husband was in hospice, Laura decided to try her hand at knitting. She had heard me talk about it so much, and it was her way to do something we could both talk about, other than the regular stressful life things.
Our first joint project was creating the Purl Soho dumpling bag. This was the project that cemented our knitting journey together. Two people, 1000’s of miles apart joined by the common thread of knitting.
What connections has knitting brought you in your life? Our’s continue to grow and expand as we meet new fiber artists.
